Transparency and sustaining donor’s interest in its programs are challenges faced by every nonprofit. Transparency is vital to maintain the public trust on which nonprofit organizations depend to do their work. In addition donors often feel the need to be connected directly with the end recipient of their donations. A medium is needed which allows nonprofits to make the donation process interactive and transparent.
Jihi charitable corporation has been setup to provide a platform which allows nonprofits to increase transparency and interaction in the donation process. This platform is particularly suited for small grassroots nonprofits who have limited access to fundraising and thanks to their direct work, are able to provide regular feedback to donor(s). Jihi intends to use the affordability and interactivity provided by internet to fulfill its objective.

The web model works as follows:

1. Jihi will build and operate a website, which lists picture profiles of potential recipients/projects. The website will allow anyone with a credit card to donate small amounts (as low as 10$) of money to their chosen recipient. Once the requested amount is collected, the profile will be closed for further donation.This website is currently under construction with scheduled completion by mid November.

2. Once the amount of money required for the recipient/project is collected, the money will be disbursed to the recipient/project through partner nonprofits. Jihi will keep a small percentage of the money for its operational expenses.

3. Partner nonprofits will use the money for the benefit of the recipient/to execute the project
|
4. Nonprofits will report back the use of the donation and recipient’s/project’s progress to Jihi.

5. Jihi will update the website and the donor(s) with the status of the donation and the recipient’s/project’s progress.
